Individually Designed Websites

This is a complete service from the initial designing and building of your website to the continued hosting of your website on the Internet. This service includes the registration of a website name such as yoursitesname.co.uk (also known as a domain name) if you do not already have one.

Designing and building

The website will be individually designed to your requirements. You will be able to view progress right through the design and build stage and change anything that you do not like. The use of a security login will ensure that the website remains hidden to all others until you have approved it for release onto the Internet.

Search engine optimisation methods will be used to help your site to be found by customers searching for you or your services. Your site details will be submitted to the main UK Internet search providers, Google, Yahoo, AOL etc., requesting them to include your site in their listings.

Included in the cost of your new website is the option of an online form individually designed for your particular needs. This can be an enquiry form, an order form or a contact form. Users then simply fill in the required boxes and press a button to send the form. When the button is pressed, the contents of the form are sent to an email address of your choice. The sender need not know the destination of the form. These are often of more use than relying on an email because you can specify boxes to hold the exact information that you require. Also, if the destination email address is not shown, it cannot be seen by spammers.

Also included in the cost is the conversion of your photographs, drawings, graphics etc. into internet quality images for inclusion on the site. If you do not have suitable images I can supply these for you. Go to the images page to find out more.

Hosting

All websites are hosted on servers in a secure purpose built UK data centre. The servers are protected against interruption of service. Hosting charges include maintenance of the website and any work necessary to keep the website running at optimum performance.

Statistics

I can provide detailed monthly statistics about your website that will tell you how many visitors you had, including information about when you were visited, which pages they looked at, how they got to you, the previous site they came from, which page they started at and which page they left at. You can have this emailed to you monthly to enable you to get a full picture of your site's usage. Or you can request a single months statistics at any time, which is useful if you have been featured in a paper or magazine or have offered a new service or product and wish to see the results.

Making changes

From time to time you may want to make small changes to the content of your website such as adding or changing some text or an image. Such changes are included in the annual running costs of your Individually Designed website. If you need to make frequent or regular changes to your website, also available is my unique Online Update System which allows you to make unlimited changes for a single annual fee.

Website names

All websites need a website name such as yoursitesname.co.uk (also know as a domain name). If you do not already have one, the name you choose will be registered to you through the official registrars. It will then become your property. An annual fee is then payable to the registrars. This fee will be included with your annual charge for hosting.

If you are a UK based company or organisation you should consider having a UK website name although there is nothing to stop you choosing to have an international one although these are more expensive.

UK names:
.co.uk - for use by UK businesses
.org.uk - for use by UK charities or non profit making organisations
.me.uk - for use by UK private individuals.

International names:
.com - for use by businesses
.biz - for use by businesses
.org - for use by charities or non profit making organisations
.net - for use by internet services providers
.info - for use by information services providers

If you are a UK based charitable or non profit making organisation and would like a .org.uk website name you will receive a discount in your design and build charges. See prices below.

If you have already registered a name elsewhere, you can use that instead. Your existing name can simply be 'diverted' to your new website. This will make no difference at all to the operation of the website. I can do this for you or tell you how to do it. In this case you would continue to pay the annual fee to the registration company as before.

Emails

Email addresses are based on your website name.
For example mail@yoursitesname.co.uk or yourname@yoursitesname.co.uk.

All new email addresses can be accessed as WebMail for reading and writing your emails on-line and or by using Outlook Express or Windows Mail or other email programs for downloading your emails to your computer so that you can read and write them on-line or off-line.

Or for simplicity you may prefer to keep using your existing email address and access it as you do now.

Whatever option you choose, links or buttons can be provided for your customers to email you direct from the website. Examples:

Detailed usage statistics, emailed monthly - £12 per year.
Statistics for a single month, emailed - £2 (payable with next annual fee).

Individually designed - £9.98. (Single payment).
